In basketball, we always want to wrap or tape our ankles, wear ankle braces and wear high top sneakers to make sure we don’t roll or sprain our ankles.
But the problem is, our ankles, the joint is meant to be mobile.
I am not telling you to stop taping or wearing your braces, but you should add in these drills to help mobilize the ankle joint
On a side note, each joint in your body, is meant to be mobile or stable, so when the ankle is locked, the body is going to look for movement from some other joint and usually that means the knee. A mobile knee = an injury especially in girls, an ACL Injury
Check out these 2 videos to learn 4 drills you can use before practice or games to try and get your ankles moving
1. Band Dorsi flexion and Plantar flexion
