Last week, Mike Boyle talked about does lifting stunt your growth and how this is 100% not true
“The myth can be traced back to a Japanese study on child labor. Children forced to perform heavy labor had stunted growth. Somehow that became correlated to weight training. Totally unfounded.”
So kids should be strength training and should be starting around the age of 10-11!
Puberty is the perfect time to get our athletes lifting, its like taking steroids
Middle school is a great time to work on the basic movements and master them so we can the add resistance bands and weights
High school, get in the weight room and load your squat, deadlifts, swings, etc
I would love to know your thoughts and your experience,
Your friend and coach,
